Your response is needed asap, and please remember, we do not charge "showcase application fees" at the IMC, instead we require that all performers first purchase at least one registration and commit to attend the valuable workshops and panels at the IMC. Other members of your group are also encouraged to attend and we have group discounts.

We also want to take this opportunity to restate what the IMC is about. The Independent Music Conference should not be looked at as a performance opportunity, that is not our focus. The IMC Staff works very hard year round to present a powerful educational event. Please attend the IMC for the learning and networking opportunities we will create for you.

This event focuses only on the independent music market, and features many procedures and policies that are not like the typical music conference. It may not be right for every musician. Specifically in regard to performances, we do not use the "s-word." The "s-word" has often been used in many promotional schemes designed to simply make a lot of money off of hopeful musicians who pay $25, $35 and even more just for a CHANCE at a performance slot. The carrot that these events dangle in front of the musicians is the promise of "industry people" in the audience who might "sign you" or "discover you." How many bands can you name that this actually happened to? We prefer to use the word "performance" instead and that's exactly what the IMC will be presenting... high energy independent music performances. Please do not apply for a performance slot if performing is all that you're interested in doing at the IMC. Check the rest of the website for more details.
